TASK 1: Research

What is single camera production ?
single camera production is production is simply a piece of media either a music video or film shot with single camera
BENEFITS
1) Your able to shoot multiple perspectives at once

2) Less issues with continuity

3) More entertaining viewing experience.
DISADVANTAGES
1) Longer to set up, put away and move around the cameras.

2) Much more expensive to buy equipment and camera crew.

3) More cameras= Less space to work with.

Whats multi camera production?
The multiple-camera setup is a video production method where several cameras record or broadcast a scene at the same time.
1) Have the ability to move around freely

2) Less expensive and easier to move around and set up

3) Have more control over each shot
1) You have to repeat some shot

2) Time consuming to move that camera around

3) Editing takes so much more time
What is continuity?
Continuity is the principle of making sure that all details in a film or TV show are consistent from shot to shot and from scene to scene. Set crews will often move all of the props and furniture into and out of the scene for various types of shots.
TASK 2: Research
Documentary

Documentaries mostly use single camera productions because most of the time the main subjects are just sitting in a stationary position.
TV Drama

Tv dramas use multi camera productions so that they are able to capture the spontaneity of the moments and also its easier to film multiple episodes in a day.
Music Video

Music videos can use either multiple or single camera productions depending on how they want their video to look like. Single is common though so they have more control over the shots and are able to do it more detailed .
Advertisements

Adverts can use either multiple or single camera productions depending on the subject/product/service being promoted/marketted. If its a simple and straightforward ad though, single camera is usually use.
YouTube Vlog

Youtube vlogging only requires one camera held by the vlogger themselves. Its easier and quicker to hold, set up and control. even if theres multiple people around
Sports events

Sports events no doubt use multi camera productions seeing as sports events consist competition with numerous people involved therefore moments will need to be captured of all angles etc.
Soap/Sitcoms

Soaps/sitcoms use single camera productions since in they usually follow and individual or group of people mostly in a room.

TASK 5: Settings
FOCUS

Focusing a camera is all about changing the distance between the subject of the image, the lens, and the sensor. The photographer can do this by adjusting the camera settings—or simply moving closer or further away from their subject.

The importance of AF can be related to how much easier life can be and the wonderful chances it presents for post-production. For instance, focus stacking makes it incredibly simple to swiftly and easily position the focal point on various parts of the frame when you're shooting macro and want to perform some focus stacking.

video Example

APErture

The opening in a lens through which light enters the camera is known as an aperture. If you merely consider how your eyes function, the concept is simple to grasp. The size of your pupil is controlled by the iris in your eyes, which expands or contracts when you travel between bright and dark situations. For example, in a lens with a max. aperture of F4, this would be between f/8 and f/11 → f/4, f/5.6, f/8,f/11, f/16…8

Example
F/22 F/18 F/14

F/11 F/9.0 F/7.1

F/5.6 F/4.5 F/3.5

F/2.8 F2.2 F1.8

Focal Length
The focal length of a lens is one of the lens' optical characteristics. It calculates the separation, in millimetres, between the lens' optical centre and the camera's sensor or maybe films that include plane, with the camera focused at maximum, it is decided. The focal length of a lens is its name, and you may find this information on the lens's barrel.

CORE ASSESSMENT:
When the music starts, the music video begins with a medium close up shot of a classy lady sat, whilst holding a glass of alcohol looking ahead. Thanks to the medium close up shot, this briefly introduces the audience to her as one of the significant performers in this video. Medium Close up's are useful because it allows the viewers to see the facial expressions and NVC of the person; in this case she looks alluring and the way she holds the glass, signals that she's flirtatious.

This shot lasts less than a second as it hard cuts to a long low angle shot panning forward towards Jason Derulo,
Music Video
spinning around with his arms out. It ends at 00:28, creating a sense of interest and emphasising on his sudden presence. It is clear to see that he is the main performer as well as Tesher.
From this point we see multiple shots of Jason Derulo, the backup dancers and Tesher back to back, with the usual medium close up shot of the lady.
ADVERT Video
This BMW advert uses a variety of different cool camera technqiues and angles to captivate the viewer on the launch of their new car. Each shot, angle and effect come rapidly one after the other(fast cutting) with non-diegetic music used in the back. Non diegetic music in adverts are helpful because they can become memorable to the viewer as they start to associate those sounds with the company.
A wide shot was used at 0:20, which was helpful allowing the whole car side to be in the frame, stationary, with a slight view of the setting. The car itself, catches the eye, as the
as the background is lighter and very simple; it looks very futuristic. The futuristic look gives a sense of class and makes the car look and seem very modern and powerful. The colour of the car chosen to advertise the brand, is black. Black is a classic colour and it connotes elegance, seriousness and mystery.
A very small aperture of f/22 was used ring the shot a very large depth of field with everything nearly in focus. Almost all throughout this advert a small aperture was used, especially during the driving shots like at 0:52. To even out the motion blue, quicker shutter speeds were used and because of that those shots got abit darker.

This advert is a single camera production because its more film like and its given the director the freedom to be flexible wit the space, shots and camera movements.
drama Video
This video is a scene from a drama genre show named Cobra Kai, and it's of two guys named Robby and Hawk preparing and commencing a fight.

Firstly, the video starts with Robby in mid shot removing his karate kit within a ring of the crowd. Thanks to the mid shot, it gave the character and the setting equal space in the frame so that the audience is able to see his outfit and the people around him. He ripped off his kit aggressively as if he was ready to fight and during this, there was a slow motion to emphasise on his facial expression and 'ready' NVC.
From 1:04 a high angle tilt shot was used making the characters look smaller and inferiror implying and emphasising on the tension happening at that moment. Tilt shots add movement, depth and spontaneity to it so the its not so natural and uninteresting.
